Biography

Sophie Schorling has been a nurse for 35 years specializing in critical care and emergency room nursing.  For the past 15 years she has been teaching in the SON 2nd, 3rd and 4th year nursing students as a clinical instructor. In April of this year she took on a new position as Clinical Projects Director for the Interprofessional Education organizing student participation in various simulation labs.

  • Anne Pollok Hemmings Award for Clinical Excellence, Charter Member, University of Virginia School of Nursing (2009-2010)

Clinical Focus

Sophie has a strong commitment in educating nursing students about bedside nursing skills, critical thinking skills, providing compassionate care and the importance of a holistic approach in caring for their patients.

Teaching Focus

Sophie is committed to teach collaboration and communication between all health care professionals in developing goal directed therapy to different types of patients.
