Biography
Mary Lavery-Fisher, DNP, JD, FNP-BC, CNS, PMHNP-BC, is a clinical instructor in the area of psychiatric-mental health nursing who earned an MSN and a post-master’s certificate from UVA before earning a law degree and a DNP from Breyer State University in Los Angeles.
Currently the advanced practice provider manager at INOVA Hospital managing program development for a host of clinical areas, including emergency medicine as well as outpatient and inpatient services, Mary also directs INOVA’s advanced practice provider psychiatric fellowship.
Prior to that role, Lavery-Fisher was a crisis care nurse practitioner at INOVA, and the leader nurse practitioner for its behavioral health units, a psychiatric NP at Culpeper Medical Clinic, Virginia Psychiatric Medicine, Culpeper Regional Hospital, and Lewis Gale Hospital, and a nurse manager at Radford Hospital. In her role at UVA, Lavery-Fisher will teach both undergraduate and graduate students psychiatric mental health nursing in the classroom and oversee prelicensure students’ clinical rotations in the specialty.
