Biography

Arielle Scarpati, DNP, RN, PNP-AC, is an assistant professor and the acute care pediatric nurse practitioner specialty lead for students enrolled in the DNP program. She teaches graduate courses on pediatric diagnosis and management.

A pediatric nurse since 2013, Scarpati began her career as a medical-surgical pediatric care before subsequently transitioning into a pediatric critical care roles in Boston, New York, and, Seattle. She earned a DNP from the University of Washington and has experience working as a nurse practitioner on gastroenterology, cardiac surgery, and critical care units. Scarpati is particularly passionate about feeding in pediatric cardiac patients and streamlining hospital-based care. Her research has focused on closing gaps for cardiac surgical patients who are lost-to-follow up, work that highlighted socio-economic disparities in long-term follow-up care.

A devoted champion of pediatric nurse practitioners, Scarpati hopes to elevate the field by helping enable nurse practitioners to function at the top of their scope of practice.
