Biography

James Nisley joined the UVA School of Nursing as a Simulation Educator in January 2020. James has three years of academic experience as a Simulation Coordinator and Faculty in an undergraduate nursing program in New York. He is also an independent consultant and has conducted simulation lab assessments and has provided coaching/mentoring services as it relates to simulation. James earned an associate degree in nursing from the College of Saint Mary and a BSN from Creighton University, both in Omaha, Nebraska. He earned his MSN with an emphasis in leadership and health systems from the University of Colorado, Denver. James earned his DNP from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Bare, Pennsylvania. He holds a national certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and is a member of both the International Nurses Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning and the Society of Simulation in Healthcare.
