Biography

A higher education advancement professional with over 15 years of experience, Erik Williams joined the School of Nursing Alumni and Development Office in April, 2020. He most recently served as the Director of Development for the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), securing private support as a part of their $50 million major gifts campaign.

Prior to joining the VCCS, Erik served as the Director of Development and Chief Development Officer for Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, VA. There he developed and led a comprehensive health science advancement office and served as a member of the college’s leadership team.

Erik earned his Associate in Arts and Sciences degree from Wytheville Community College, his BA from Radford University, and his MA from Hollins University. Erik is a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) and has served in numerous leadership roles for local, state, and national professional organizations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Virginia Fundraising Institute.
