Biography

David Simmons earned his RN-to-BSN degree from UVA in 1984 and his MSN from UVA in 1993. He is a board certified Nephrology Nurse serving as the Director of clinical Services for the Kidney Center Clinic at the UVA Medical Center and a clinical instructor for CNL students at the UVA School of Nursing.

David has over 30 years of clinical expertise with acute and chronically ill nephrology populations. He is the founder of the Black Nurses Association of Charlottesville, a chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc.  He is also an active member of the Nephrology Nurses Association. He serves as a frequent presenter and consultant for nephrology management services and interventions.
