Biography

Christine Guarnera’s 35 years in nursing have spanned the continuum from nursery nurse to school nurse to adult nurse practitioner to associate director at an assisted living facility. Ms. Guarnera has taught maternity, pediatric, and community nursing for the past 13 years.

Clinical Focus

Maternal-newborn, pediatric, and community health, emphasizing the centrality of family.

Teaching Focus

I seek to help nursing students see the complexity around their patients, give and receive encouraging and specific feedback, use all their knowledge and life experiences to aid patient care, promote the role of nursing in the healthcare policy dialogue, and use technology to enhance learning.
