A conversation with Mavis Claytor (MSN `85, BSN `70)

Ms. Mavis Claytor (MSN `85, BSN `70) is the first African-American nurse to graduate from the School of Nursing and a celebrated nurse who had a lengthy and distinguished career with the Veterans' Administration. She headlined the April 7, 2017, Catherine Strader McGehee lecture, an annual event that heralds individuals who are trailblazers in nursing.

Claytor took to the McLeod Auditorium stage before a standing-room-only-crowd with PhD student Tori Tucker (BSN `12) whose dissertation "Moving Lines" documents Claytor's experience and life.
