Our School of Nursing offers students an environment rich in opportunities for practice and professional development at one of the best universities in the world. Courses are dynamic and interprofessional, clinical opportunities rich and rewarding, and opportunities to conduct original, meaningful research abound with some of the world's best nursing professors and mentors. We cultivate compassionate caregivers who are resiliant and mindful, and we are committed to providing the best, most robust experience possible—including regular exposure to our state-of-the-art simulation clinic—to nurture the practice and profession of 21st century nurses.
But perhaps best of all, being at the School of Nursing feels like family—like coming home.
Nurse leaders are fostered through curriculum and through organizations such as Student Nurses Association of Virginia (SNAV), the Beta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the world's only international honor society for nurses, Nursing Students Without Borders, founded here in 1999, Men Advancing Nursing (MAN), and Minorities in Nursing Today. International study and service opportunities are continuously expanding; today, about ten percent of our students study and serve abroad.
And of course, UVa is nestled in Charlottesville—consistently ranked among the nation's best places to live—where there is something for everyone, from foodies to culture vultures to arts enthusiasts and nature lovers.
But don't just take our word for it: see what the students say ...
... and see you around Grounds!
