It's been a long time coming.
And now, five years since we opened the Claude Moore Nursing Education building, we couldn’t be prouder of our architectural footprint. With more generous lecture halls and well-equipped classrooms outfitted with the latest technologies, meeting rooms and common areas to promote interaction and collaboration, the Claude Moore Nursing Education Building – with its airy, modern, glass-sided style – is the perfect home for our burgeoning programs. It’s also a great place to take the stairs, grab coffee or just sit and talk with friends, colleagues and professors.
Next up: McLeod Hall, which opened in 1972, which is receiving a face-lift floor-by-floor, and is expected to have its overhaul complete by spring of 2015. Already the auditorium has been widened and classroom space reconfigured, and the Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry – one of two such centers in the entire country – has found a new, revitalized home. McLeod’s first floor now includes a café where students, faculty and staff mingle and relax.
With renovation of McLeod underway, the Clinical Simulation Learning Center will temporarily relocate before returning to a much-expanded third floor space in McLeod by the end of 2012. Already, much of McLeod’s laboratories are upgraded, and additional learning tools – an OR suite, an ICU simulation and procedural labs and virtual reality simulation equipment – are ready and in use.

The refurbished fourth and fifth floors are dedicated to the School’s research areas, and will house faculty offices, conference space, and facilities for the School's four research centers: the Center for Nursing Research, Rural Health Care Research Center, Health Care Product Evaluation Center, and the Center for the Study of Complementary and Alternative Therapies.
