A half-day interprofessional meeting for clinicians and others interested in palliative and end-of-life care

A collaboration among UVA Schools of Nursing and Medicine, Hospice of the Piedmont and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, the 4th annual Melton D. and Muriel Haney Interprofessional Conference: Compassionate Conversations at End of Life offers a dynamic series of speakers and information focused on compassionate, culturally competent end-of-life care from some of the region's most exceptional experts.

This half-day interprofessional conference is for medical and allied health professionals, including nurses, physicians, chaplains, social workers, and students, especially those outside the palliative care specialty with a shared interest in relieving suffering and providing compassionate care and recognizing the diverse needs of individuals and families at the end of life.

The University of Virginia School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Virginia School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. SONCE awards 4.25 contact hours for nurses who participate in this educational activity and complete the post activity evaluation.
