Overview

The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Project is a national end-of-life educational program administered by City of Hope (COH) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) designed to enhance palliative care in nursing. The ELNEC curriculum addresses the essential components of palliative care, using interactive learning strategies that include: the role of nurse as advocate, the multidisciplinary team, the multidimensional aspect of caring for persons with serious illness, the family as the unit of care, and the critical need for attention to underserved and special populations.  

Target audience: staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, undergraduate and graduate nursing faculty, administrators, and researchers who work in acute care settings (i.e. medical-surgical and oncology units), clinics, homecare, hospice, and palliative care settings.
