Join radiologist Michael T. Perry, MD, Assistant Professor, UVA Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging, and master the basics of interpreting and diagnosing common abnormalities in musculoskeletal xrays. Participants will examine a multitude of images to develop skill in identifying structures, normal variants, and common abnormalities due to trauma or chronic health problems. Participants will learn to apply the American College of Radiology Appropriate Use Criteria for imaging decisions, and will also study examples of abnormal findings that should be escalated to the next level of care. This virtual session will be provided in a participatory and engaging format with case review, discussion, and opportunity for Q & A.
Dr. Perry will lead interactive sessions on musculoskeletal diagnostic imaging. Through participation in this half-day conference, clinicians will:
- Articulate application of a systematic approach to evaluating common injuries and fractures
- Apply American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria when determining necessity advanced imaging
- Identify common musculoskeletal injuries
