Office for Nursing Research

‌The Office for Nursing Research (ONR) is responsible for facilitating the development of research activities in the School of Nursing. Its primary functions are to enhance research productivity, to increase the intensity of the research environment, and to assist students and faculty in securing external funding to support research.


ONR staff consult with faculty members during all stages of the proposal process:

  • Grant budgeting and budget justification
  • Format proposals under various guidelines
  • "Boiler plate" descriptions of the University and School of Nursing
  • Obtain official University signatures
  • Special handling and delivery of grants

The ONR also supports nursing students interested in pursuing research, with:

  • Seminars on research topics each year
  • Individual consultation with visiting scholars
  • Workshop on writing for publication is offered annually.
