Joe Nasevich joined the School of Nursing's IT team in 2014 as the school's webmaster.  He is one of just 636 Web Accessibility Specialists (WAS) in the world, having earned his IAPP WAS certification in April 2021.  He earned a graduate certificate in Cyber Security Management from UVA's School of Continuing and Professional Studies in April 2020.  He is a certified Decisions BPM developer, having earned his Decisions Fundamental Developer certification in April 2020.

Joe has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.  A lifelong learner, Joe has taken classes wherever he has lived.  He is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in the Management of Information Technology (MSMIT) program at UVA's McIntire School of Commerce.

Joe served 10 years as an officer in the United States Air Force.  After resigning his commission, Joe worked several years as a software consultant.  He later joined Sperry Marine (now Northrop Grumman) where he developed navigation systems for commercial and military vessels.  Joe left Northrop Grumman in 2011 and founded his own business, Whispering Woods Web Design.  Joe has also taught web design as an adjunct faculty member at Piedmont Virginia Community College.

When he isn’t glued to his computer screen, Joe enjoys biking, kayaking, hockey, skiing, and spending time with his fiancée, Emily, and his two children, Tasha (COL '13) and Michael (BSN '17).
