University of Virginia School of Nursing
Caitlin Dreisbach, a labor and delivery nurse enrolled in UVA Nursing's PhD program, was one of five UVA students named Jonas Scholars for 2016.

Hearty congratulations to the School's five recently-named Jonas Scholars -- PhD students Caitlin Dreisbach, Trina Kumodzi, Christina Weaver, and Jolie Crowder, as well as DNP student Kim Albero -- who each received a $10,000 scholarship for their studies from the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence, an amount that will be matched by the School over two years

UVA's Jonas Scholars are among more than 400 around the country chosen from 140 schools, and part of Jonas's effort to increase the number of nurse faculty, nurse leaders and doctorally-prepared clinicians.

The program was begun in 2008 when it included six scholars, and today supports 425 scholars in its 2016-2018 cohort, including 300 Nurse Leader Scholarships and 125 Veterans Healthcare Scholarships.
