Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Faculty Role, General Track

The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for an open rank general track faculty position with experience in the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care specialty (AGACNP or ACNP-BC). Candidates interested in a 12-month full-time faculty appointment are encouraged to apply., with an anticipated start date of July, 2024.

 

This is a teaching focused position with significant duties teaching in our APRN program but opportunities to teach at all levels. In addition to teaching, there are also opportunities for service, practice, scholarship, and other administrative duties related to student advising.

Mellon Race, Place, and Equity Postdoctoral History Research Associate

The Mellon Race, Place, and Equity postdoctoral research associate position, embedded in the Bjoring Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry, recruits postdoctoral scholars with potential to assume tenure-track faculty positions and who would benefit from mentored professional development opportunities.  The Mellon Fellow will work on race, justice, and equity-related investigations specifically in the history of nursing and healthcare in North America and will be mentored by some of the nation's foremost experts on the history of medicine and nursing and its relevance to modern healthcare education and practice.

This postdoctoral fellowship is funded by a University-wide Race, Place and Equity grant from the Mellon Foundation and UVA matching funds to advance research and teaching related to race, justice, and equity.

Professor of Nursing, Neuroscience Focus

The School seeks a qualified researcher with a neuroscience focus (including research related to Alzheimer’s, autism, or other brain research) eligible for the rank of full professor with tenure, with an anticipated start date as early as January 2024. 

As a teacher and scholar, the successful candidate will shape and advance the understanding of brain function across the lifespan through the integration of neuroscience research into clinical practice, education, and/or health policy. This position will be a leader in contributing to the school’s strategic priorities, which include building the Areas of Excellence in research and our commitments to interdisciplinary collaboration as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. The faculty member will play an important part in collaboratively strengthening and expanding our research infrastructure within the School of Nursing and broader University of Virginia community.

Postdoc to Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

The University of Virginia School of Nursing is seeking to hire scholars with a developing program of research to become a postdoctoral fellow and, upon successful completion of the specified deliverables during the two-year fellowship, receive a direct appointment to our tenure-track faculty as an assistant professor.

This is a unique opportunity to establish and accelerate your program of research at a world-class research institution. Postdoctoral fellows will be paired with a faculty mentor and develop an individualized training plan to accomplish their research goals. After two successful years, fellows will transition into a tenure-track assistant professor role.
