HESIware is an online testing tool used by select courses. Though it is now owned by the same company, the HESIware testing tool is distinct from the Elsevier Evolve testing tool - passwords and URLs for HESIware are distinct from those for Evolve.

Logging Into HESIware:
It is strongly recommended that you print or write down your HESIware password before attempting to login to the examination - once you have loaded the HESIware application, it is not possible to access email or other websites from your PC.
Access to the HESIware site requires a Windows PC and Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher (HESIware is not Mac-compatible, even if you have Internet Explorer installed on a Mac - you must use a PC to take HESIare exams). Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework must also be installed (note: installation of the .NET 2.0 framework can take from five to 20 minutes, or longer). Proctored examinations require a Windows laptop, Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher, and access to the Cavalier wireless network.

From the HESIware page, select Student Log In:

When prompted with a File Download – Security Warning, choose Run
When prompted with the Internet Explorer – Security Warning, choose Run
Login using your computingID@virginia.edu e-mail address and HESIware password that was e-mailed to your UVa e-mail account.
Changing your HESIware Password: log into HESIware, then click on View Profile in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You may then set a password of your choosing.
If, when logging in, you receive an error message that reads, "Student login is not allowed without using a secure browser," click on Exit in the upper right-hand corner of the HESI browser, completely exit the HESI browser, and then load the browser again.
