Center for Nursing Research
The Center for Nursing Research (CNR) is responsible for facilitating the development of research activities in the School of Nursing. Its primary functions are to enhance research productivity, to increase the intensity of the research environment, and to assist students and faculty in securing external funding to support research.
Center staff consult with faculty members during all stages of the proposal process. Support services available from the staff at the CNR include:
- Grant budgeting and budget justification
- Formatting proposals under various guidelines
- Providing "boiler plate" descriptions of the University and School of Nursing resources
- Obtaining official University signatures
- Making arrangements for special handling and delivery of grants
CNR resources include a collection of research journals and copies of funded grant applications stored in the CNR conference room in McLeod Hall room 5016.
The Center also provides support services to nursing students interested in pursuing research. Several visiting scholars present seminars on research topics each year, and are available for individual consultation. A workshop on writing for publication is offered annually.
