Nursing Ventures offers two services:
Nursing Ventures Entrepreneurial Resource Center

- Provides supports to University of Virginia nurse clinicians and faculty
who have new nursing enterprise and product ideas.
- Provides UVa nurse product developers with product development expertise
and advice.
- Provides UVa nurse product developers with access to online resources.
Health Care Product Evaluation Center – HCPEC
(Administrator: Deborah Conway)
Conducts health care product evaluations for:
- Companies seeking assistance developing and refining prototypes
- Companies seeking to diversify by acquiring rights to a device created by
another firm
- Companies developing an off-label use for an established product
- Companies requiring an objective third-party evaluation of a single
device or a series of competing designs
- Law firms specializing in
intellectual property
