International Scholarships
Thanks to the generosity of the School of Nursing Alumni Association and donors to the School of Nursing Endowment for International Initiatives, School of Nursing students and faculty can apply for grants to help defray some of the costs of international academic and exchange programs. Students and faculty can submit requests (in general, up to $1,000).
Alumni Council International Scholarships
Applications should be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Student Services (OASS) by April 1 of each year. Support is given to full-time nursing students (graduate or undergraduate) to defer some of their tuition or travel expenses for an international program. The program must be an academic credit awarding program – monies are not awarded for overseas internships, volunteer, or research experiences. Priority in funding is given to students who are receiving financial assistance from the University or federal sources. International Scholarship Application for the application. Endowment for International Initiatives

NEW this year, the international committee is requesting that along with your application, you obtain one recommendation from your advisor or a clinical instructor who can speak to your professionalism and ability to represent UVA while abroad. You may use an existing letter of recommendation if you like, and the letter need not exceed one page in length.
