Rankings

University of Virginia School of Nursing Ranks #19 - Among Top 5% in the U.S
 In
its 2007 ranking of America’s best graduate schools, U.S. News &
World Report has reported the U.Va. School of Nursing master’s degree
program in a tie for 19th in the country, placing it among the nation’s
top 5%. Neither undergraduate nor doctoral nursing programs are
included in this ranking.

Two specialties among our graduate programs are ranked among the nation’s Top Ten:

Clinical Nurse Specialist – Psychiatric/Mental Health - 5th
Clinical Nurse Specialist – Adult/Medical-Surgical - 6th

Master’s programs in nursing typically are ranked every
three years by the magazine. The rankings are based upon “reputation
scores” submitted by nursing deans and do not rely upon quantitative
data. The U.Va. School of Nursing score has risen consistently – from
2.8 in 1995 to an all-time high of 3.9 today (on a 5-point scale).

When compared only to public institutions, U.Va.’s graduate nursing program is now 18th in the nation.
